Here are a few photos of my new BMI S-10, which is on a single-wide body. They call it the Axius model.

Sorry for the poor photos. I know nothing about photography.

Notice the guitar doesn't have the usual cross rods and bell cranks. The pullers are attached to flat bars that run across the guitar. One screw holds the puller to the flat bar.

The guitar came with a BL 705 pickup. It sounds wonderful. (Of course it does. It's black!)

Lee, BMI has been using that type of cross bar as long as I can remember. Probably stiffer and stronger than a bar. I also like the nice long vert lever. Nice guitar. RP

I love what a different solution this is to the common problem that all all-pull guitars have to solve. And I dig that this looks virtually unchanged from my 1983 BMI. It works. Why fix it.
I do wonder if this engineering could handle my 8 + 8, 12 string setup. I don't see why not but I wonder if any issues would emerge, space being one.
But for a straightforward S-10, no problem.
Congrats on a new horn.

Very nice. It's a newer, shinier, blacker version of my '80s BMI S10 (mica woodgrain).

Pretty!

Jon - Cowboy Eddie Long plays a pretty loaded BMI U-12.

His doesn't have that many knee-levers, though.

Lee, I went thru one of those for a guy a few years ago. You'd swear by looking at the parts that they couldn't be any good, but they're a pretty darn good guitar. I liked the way that one played and sounded.

Congratulations Lee,
Looks very similar to one I had in the 80s. You made an excellent choice. Enjoy !

My first steel was BMI S-10 with 3 & 2. On the way back from Rio Grand Valley one spring I had made an appointment with Don and took it by Scranton one evening and he installed the 3rd & 4th knee said it was a 1970. I sold it and bought a 03 SD10 with 3&5 I later bought a SD10 in Ohio from a man who was a rep in the 80's It had been bought new in 86 by an elderly lady who got arthritis and never learned to play it. He put the 4th & 5th knee on it the 03 I leave set up in cowboy church the 86 I put a 705 in it that's my gig guitar. It was set up day I changed it to Emmon's and couple of other changes in a hr. & a half was tuned up and playing If I could afford it I would buy a new one like the 86 tomorrow I think they are a great guitar Wes

I've got a '76 and it looks pretty much just like this. Easy to work on for sure. Wish mine had a triple raise changer but other than that, it works like a million bucks and Don is a real nice guy on top of it.
