Re: "Two Arms, Two Lips, Too Lonely too Long"
(Title truncated for some reason.)
I'm probably really late to the party here, I don't get out much.
Just heard this tune for the first time this afternoon on Willie's Roadhouse (or whatever that channel is called now...)
WOW! Excellent! Blew me away...
Is that PF's pickin'? Mighty Fine Steelin'
Thanks all. _________________ Lawyers are done: Emmons SD-10, 3 Dekleys including a D10, NV400, and lots of effects units to cover my clams...

Definitely Paul Franklin on that cut. That whole record has great steel. |

Ray, what artist recorded the version with Paul Franklin's steel playing?
The original was written and recorded by Mel Tillis:

(Oooops, I screwed up. Mel Tillis didn't write the song; Jim Owen did - Jim also wrote "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man".)
Justin Trevino has a great cover, too:

Keep on pickin'!

If it was Teea Goans version that would have been Mike Johnson. |

I don't know why the heading on this thread keeps changing. I originally had the artist and song title in the heading... Digital gremlins at work...
It was/is the Teea Goans version I inquired about.
Thank you Mike Johnson for the great sounds and entertainment. _________________ Lawyers are done: Emmons SD-10, 3 Dekleys including a D10, NV400, and lots of effects units to cover my clams... |

The first Teea Goans album is half Paul Franklin and half Mike Johnson. Mike is playing on Walking The Floor Over You, Same Ol' Song and Dance, Walk Out Backwards, etc. while Paul played on I'm Still Not Over You,"Two Arms, Two, Lips, Too Lonely Too Long" Letter From God, etc. Mike is on Teea's other records too(check out he and Tommy White on her version of "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down") |
