Scotty's Mel Bay E9th course includes Buddies Tab for Danny Boy. The course included a cassette tape. It may be on the the tape. I think the course is still available with a CD. It's the course with Scotty on the front cover with a Sho Bud D10.

I have that book Henry, but don’t have or remember the book having a cassette or CD with it... As a matter of fact, I’ve boughten two of those books and gave one to my Dad... he doesn’t remember a recording coming with it either... of course it was many years ago.
I remember when I learned this song always playing it acapella, and never have used a track for it. _________________ Dale Rottacker, Steelinatune™

I looked up my copy and your right the cassette tape was sold separate from the book. This is Mel Bay's Anthology of Pedal Steel Guitar E9 Chromatic Tuning by DeWitt Scott copyright 1980. The tape number is MB93714C |

I don't know about the downloads, but on another PSG course from Mel bay, you can turn off the channel with the steel, so you only hear the backing. It was panneled that way. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Big Jim Baron has the Emmons version for BIAB. I use it and the chords are perfect. I also use Heby Wallace's version of Danny Boy and the BIAB track. Herby told me that when he did the tab for Danny Boy that the Emmons company wanted it "exactly" as Buddy's version. I've never A/B'd them, tho.

if it's not exact it's very close and the soundtrack was on one channel with steel on the other. |
