One of my favorite players. Is that guitar an early cut tail? The flat black one? Thanks. _________________ I need an Emmons! |

Tom;
I've heard that JayDee prefers the 1969 guitars. Not sure where I heard that, though. It may have been from him... _________________ My best,

Howdy Tom! I have heard the same thing as Ernie. All I can say is I'm proud to be a member of that 1969 club _________________ Tommy Detamore

Well I'm class of 71. Flat black just like Jay Dee's. Actually I'm class of '63 but I'm talking high school now... -L-
Oh yeah, the pickups rate at 14.8/14.9K E9/C6 on this guitar. Anyone know some figures on your own instruments? _________________ I need an Emmons!

My '73 flat rosewood 'mica fatback D-10 has its original pickups. The E9 measures 15.5 and C6 measures 16.5.
My '73 sunburst lacquer GS-10 measures 12.3. Pickup appears to be original. |

Ok just for you guys I asked Jaydee while I was with him in Brisbane Australia this past weekend....
He actually owns 4 Push Pulls --- two 68's, a 69, and also the "Larry" guitar ... which is a guitar him and Larry Sasser built from parts destined for the rubbish bin (I presume from Ron Lashley) ...and when Larry recently retired he gave the guitar back to JD !! This guitar has no serial numbers on it as it's a "parts guitar" ...
Here's a guick view up the skirt of the 68 he had with him in OZ ... JD rebuilt this guitar himself and you could eat off it - it was just in as new condition

Huh... I thought it was the other way around (2 69's).
I never noticed before, but does the crossbrace look like it's a bit closer to the keyhead than usual?
And yeah, let's hear about the show... |

Yes the show was an outstanding success on the saturday night ... on the sunday we had a BBQ and a bit of a jam session as well so I got to sit and trade licks and play with JayDee which was a huge buzz .. a lot of fun and JayDee was brilliant and such a great guy ... oh and we talked about Steel guitars quite a bit hehe
Jaydee and I were the two overseas guests - he had to come a bit further than me of course _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

First is Milton Quackenbush, JD and Myself taking turns
Then JD checking to see if I have got his lick right hehe...
Lots of other pictures from the Aussie steel festival right here ... http://brissteelguitar.com/2015-gallery/ and a few sub folders of the evening concert and the sunday jam etc ... _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
