I am having A&S Case build me a case for my 6 string Fender Champ lap steel. A&S is located off of I-5 just north of Burbank at 8818 Lankershim Blvd.
A&S needs to make a template or drawing of the instrument and as I live in Washington state, I cant get the instrument to them.
I'm told that it would take 20 minutes to get the template done, if they had the lap steel.
This may be a long shot, but does any one of the forumites living in the LA area have a Fender Champ and would be willing to take it over to A&S Case to have them measure and make a template?
I would be willing to pay for your time and gas.
Contact me and I'll get you some picturs and measurements to make sure we indeed have the exact models.
Thanks Duane Becker |

I said G&G. They make cases for the Fender Custom Shop. I asked for a replacement Fender poodle case and they had them because they made them. They already may be making cases for the repro champs. _________________ Chris Lucker

The repro guitars are Champions... the Champ is a different guitar, with more Stringmaster-like appointments. I'm not sure that the Champion ever had a wood case... IIRC it was cardboard. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |

Okay.
I would still ask G&G. They even had measurements for old Bigsby cases when I needed them. _________________ Chris Lucker

Were you able to get what you need? I'm in Ventura and have a '60 Champ and case. I may be down in the Burbank area next week |

Sorry Miles, I should have realized this post was still sitting out there open.
Yes, I did get some help with this. Forumite Ben Elder was gracious enough to take is steel down to A&S for the measurements.
I had the case built and shipped. It arrived on time, fits my steel great too.
