I never played one, but there was a post about them a few months back.
I think it said they are a pretty low-end instrument made in China

Yikes! These things sound like the absolute bottom of the lap steel barrel. Caveat Emptor!

i've seen these sonicas on ebay. they claim that they are factory seconds, fell over in a photo shoot or something. maybe it's straight up but it sounds fishy to me. glad to hear someone post that they sound like mud. i think the caveat applies.

I have seen Sonica electric mandolins on ebay,brand new,also at the low end of the spectrum. I've not had any experience with any of these but it seems like this company manufactures low price,low quality instruments.
