I was playing with my Sarno BB and the sound was "Honky" and kinda "Can-ish".

I spoke with Brad Sarno and he suggested I try an old RCA preamp tube in it
so I dug out a very heavily used RCA 12ax7a from one of my old fender amps and
WOW - the sound became great ! Warm but clean, great separation, and seriously,
the Vari-Z knob became twice as responsive. A major improvement to my ears.

Just a tip if your BB isn't sounding the way you like it.

JB, that's cool. There's magic in those old "bottles." I dig tubes, but it's getting harder to find that "old new stock."
