Amigos,

Here's the link for my version of the Gypsy Dance from Bizet's Carmen. Hey we've got strings and no fret wire, just like a cello. Who says hillbillies ain't welcome at the opera ?? http://members.tripod.com/xcelerator29/Tango.html

Buddy Emmons, Marshall Hall, Mike Perlowin, Wally Murphy have done "classical" well on steel.

Why not !! In my spare time I play viola in a string quartet and have learn much that is useful on the steel, although I must admit that Elgar's "Cello Concerto in E minor" (one of my favorite pieces) sounds much better on Jacqueline Du Pre's Cello than on my D-8 Stringmaster, but then she never played "Steel Guitar Rag". Seriously some of the string quartet music sounds surprisingly GOOD on the steel!

Regards, Patrick

Interesting...
I've found that since I started playing steel I have no "spare time."
