There's a Moyo S12 for sale on Craigslist here. Anyone know about these? Any advice welcome, thanks.

Beautiful instruments, designed and built in Colorado. There were only a handful of them made, I believe.

Thanks for the replies on this.
I asked the seller about the copedant and he seems to think they were set up in a D9 tuning. Does that ring a bell with anyone - I think the builder was Glen Taylor. |

That builder sounds right. Great player.
They were one-of's, I think, and I would bet you could get any tuning or copedant you wanted. |

I heard that that instrument was on craigslist--it's an older one, but it was working well when I sold it a few years ago. You can email me if you have questions.
I'm still building some steels (just finishing #16), but they're pretty much for my own amusement. These days I spend a lot more time playing music (and living the dream in general) than building pedal steels.

I love the profile and what was done with the machine head. Beautiful wood.
This could be called a 'fatback; it has a sturdy appearance that would seem to reduce 'cabinet drop.'

| Does sound like it might have been a hardwood bar. Or possibly Delrin or nylon. I have made several polymer bars but they all sound fuller with longer sustain. Glen's style is not based on a long sustain in that video though.. |

How do you shape those heavy sides into your convex guitar body shape? It seem like your guitar won't have any cabinet drop!!! The string nut end just holds the string???

Shaping the body involves some sawing and lots of belt sanding. Not sure what the final shape of the new one will be, but it will be a bit different. Although the big aluminum pieces are pretty much ready, I will finish most of the hardware for the undercarriage before I glue the sides and fretboard together.
