A question came up in a conversation today about Peavey hybrid amps. I seem to recall that they had several but the Artist series was the only name I could recall.
Weren't there others? If so, a reminder of which ones would be appreciated.
Also, anyone recall what configurations the Artist series came in?
Thanks! |

I've got a Classic 'VT Series' 212 amp that I picked up cheap many moons ago. Cut it down to a head. SS pre, 2 x 6L6 amp. Built-in phaser. Can't say a lot good about it, as a steel amp. Very narrow band of usable steel eq. Good enough to leave at a band's rehearsal space to lighten my load but it's not exactly in my 'rotation'. |

More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

I have the Heritage VTX....two channels with paramid on both iirc.... ss pre.. 4x6L6 Class B. Loud and stiff power supply. ...heavy. .. very clean cleans. Sounds very good with N112 speakers from original N112. I haven't used it for at least seven years. ..
Outside of the power tubes adding whatever coloration is built into the specific tube model. .. the class B design basically means there is very very little ability to draw out tube dynamics... which begs the question. ... why bother? |

I have 2 Peavey MX 112 amps. They have 4 6L6's w/ a 1203-4 BW and tons of power. Sound great with a good reverb up front. A Black Box helps also. _________________ Bill |
