Hello Mike that's a great question.I used a digital delay and reverb for as long as I've been playing.I play a D-10 super pro shobud with Wallace True-tone Pick-ups and a Nashville 400.Since I purchased the Lil Izzy last August I dont use any effects other than the stock reverb and Lil Izzy and I get monster tone..This product as I affectionately call the Viagra of steel products will give you greater string seperation harmonics are very clear on the lower strings and over all will give you a fatter tone....Craig Baker is the man to talk to as he builds this great product.I hope this helps..Sincerely Slim

love my izzy! makes my guitar sound like a different guitar. just roll the highs down a bit and its clarity is great!
