i would check into the 'semi-classic' a little more. i thought it was a pull-release steel which is quite limited.
edit to say i looked into it more and it does appear to be a simplified all-pull changer. still somewhat limited in it's abilities. |

Malcolm, that is a superb job. Your guitar is now a similar colour to Tommy White's Milly when he had it. Your Milly is so much nicer looking now, and much superior to the blue finish and the white.
It's so sad to think that Reece, who has been synonymous with MSA for so many years, is missing from your photo at the MSA workshop. I still can't get my head around the fact that I won't be seeing him at his regular Saturday night theatre gig next March. Quite a depressing thought, and it has to be far worse for his friends and family. My friend and I were reminiscing about Reece a week or two ago, and his trips to the UK in the 70's. You could always be guaranteed an intelligent conversation with Reece, and he loved the heritage and history of many of the European countries. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. The Semi Classic had the same changer, but they only drilled the endplate for 1&1, except strings 4&5. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Gary,
I just have to say this guitar is the most beautiful thing
I have ever seen in my 60 years of life.
Looking this guitar over has left me nearly breathless.
Thank you for sharing these pics and info.

My first MSA:
(in the old studio west wing)
I have pics of the undercarriage.
Then there were two uni's (many pedals), a white and a black:
and the only one I'd want back, somehow, someday, somewhere.
Glad you bumped this Mike, the Red Baron should be on a wanted (or not wanted) poster.
The black was blacker but it wasn't lacquer. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |
