I am restoring a 1947 National Grand Console 8 string. I know this is a stretch, but does anyone know of a source for replacement tuners? (Kluson style 4-on-a-plate w/covers). I would appreciate any advice!

I would contact Larry Davis at Kluson. Although Kluson closed in the 80's the brand was purchased by WD Music in 94 - 95. They have been putting lots of new stuff out and doing re issues on the old style vintage tuners. Can't hurt.

What Gary said. Also in a pinch, you might be able to cut down a couple of 6-on-a-plate made for 12-string flattops.
I would love to see some photos if/when possible.

Are the tuners bad, or just the buttons? If it's just the buttons, they're easy and cheap to replace. _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |
