I just obtained an old Fender pedal that is missing the side to side tone control pot. What is a good value to get the Speedy West "oo-wah" tone effect. Is audio taper better than linear for this?

Try 250K, Audio taper. Have fun working on it, by the time you get the new pot in there and the string reattached you'll be ready to give up steelin'! What a pain!
