I've been entertaining the Idea of Making some 1/4" thick Plexiglass - Polycarbonate - Router Templates of Popular Shapes to make available to DIY Builders.

I put this one together to get a Feel From the Non Pedals Group to see if anyone would want to buy these.

They would be Clear Plexi for Trace Pattern router bits.

This one is pretty close to a New Yorker 23" scale.
I am thinking of Basic Shapes like the Rouge Artisan or some of the other Valco styles.

Lettuce know what you folks think.

I think there might be a small demand for pickup cavity templates. They are a little time consuming to make, and I've had to make my own templates for pickups like George-L and Wallace Truetones. Places like Stewmac haven't noticed the steeler market yet.
I'd like to see what other template ideas you have.

Fender Shapes are already being made into Cad Drawings by others.

Rick's have a wide variety of shapes, too many to decide with out a Trace on Graph paper from someone willing to contribute to the cause.

Pickup templates are relatively easy for me to design and create for you.
A Trace on paper of the foot print makes it all go a lot easier.
Once I've Designed it on my graphics the lasering is straight forward.

These Sorts of Templates can be used over and over again , so long as you are careful not to nick or break them.
For my products we take super accurate measurements and create down hole guides and all kinds of helpful fixtures.
I make exacting measuring sticks for scale length placement for example.

I made up a 6 and 8 String version of a basic easy to router Design based on the Artisan Rouge shape.

Here is the 8 String 24.5 Scale (can be any shorter scale too).

Here is the 6 String 23 Scale (can be any shorter scale too).

I'm sure there is lots of stuff that the DIY crowd could use.
Oddball steel specific pickup routing templates is certainly a good suggestion. Maybe conversion necks for S and T style guitars? Fret slotting / marking templates might be popular. Some generic control cavity and cover templates should be handy too.

Custom waterslide decals?

I don't Know what a Conversion Neck for a S or T Guitar is?

I've made Figured Maple Necks for adding to flat planks, another Flop, major lack of interest.

We already make Lexan Non Glare Fret-Boards with industrial Sticky , that are Awesome -- Popular.
We have them in nearly any possible Scale - Shape - Color Scheme - Graphic Markers.
We are already supplying several known builders both non and pedal.
I've also done a lot of top covers for existing pedal steels that are too shinny or have worn-faded frets.
So no interest in making any sort of slotting or marking jigs.
Other People are set up to make very good water Decals - so not doing those either.

I suppose I could do most any thing in plastics if a client has coins to spend.

We already have a Generic Template for Humbucker 6 string -
and Dual String Master, with a Cover plate pre-cut to house 2 --
8 String SM Style Pups, made from Tortoise Pick Guard Material or other material.

I can Custom make nearly any shape for those sorts of projects like cavities, and can even put them on the full pattern Template.
All is takes is "Add Money and Stir"

The Business plan is to increase our Parts Catalog as time goes forward.

My Next Big Question is: How Much are people willing to PAY for a Trace Pattern Template 1/4" Thickness?

I can have this shape cut out this week or next.

Let's talk and hone out the exacting details.

We like the P90 in a Humbucker housing Pickups that drop right into this pocket.

Pretty much any humbucker will drop into this pocket.

Here is a 23" Scale with Humbucker pickup pocket and 1-1/2" hole for the rotary at the tail.

24.5 scale

25 scale
