Who is Bennett?
What is he selling?
If it's worth it, I could be his man!!

Davie, take it you are talking about Ron Bennett, who as I understand it has just moved from Merseyside up to the Elgin/Inverness area. I can't say for sure, but, don't think Ron sponsors anyone, excellent builder and a great guy.

Malcolm...I totally agree, a nice guy and a great builder. I was up in his area and went to his workshop where he "used" to live. He said he used the best ideas of various steels to build his own. Some of them used to be in the Sho-Bud shop in London's Demark street many years ago. Some were also in a music shop in Hornchurch Essex. There's still many guys playing their Bennetts Smile

Micky, I owe a lot to Ron, when I first got my ShoBud many years ago Ron showed me how to adjust it after I totally screwed it up, he fixed it in twenty minutes , I had been trying to fix it for days, well worth the four hour drive to get to him. After that Ron fitted three extra levers on for me and I recommended him to two of my student players who bought guitars from him.Excellent player and builder who has an absolute wealth of knowledge on all things steel. Very Happy

I have a feeling that Davie Holland is referring to Bentley guitars. I saw a post on Facebook by Davy Adams saying He has been sponsored By Bently.

Billy, you are probably right, checked Davy Adams FB page and he does say that he is being given an SD10 Bentley in April.I just hope he knows who he is dealing with and has not parted with any cash, and hope he is aware this individual is barred from US and British Forums.

Malcolm,
It is very spurious to say the least,
Davy first mentioned the SD 10 about two years ago, every so often He said that the guitar would be ready in a week or two and last November it was ready and all He was waiting for was a case to be made???

Hi James
Sorry for the confusion.
The post started out with a question about Ronnie Bennett who is a well respected builder in the U.K. and then it was Myself who probably caused confusion by mentioning Bently pedal steels which are being produced in the U.S.
Best regards
Billy
