Jerry Douglas announced on Facebook today that Tut Taylor has passed away. More information to come as I receive it.

His work with John Hartford, Norman Blake, and others was incredibly influential. He was a noted Dobro® collector and composer of many songs (see the CD "Southern Filibuster" for an all star cast performing his tunes).

(By way of gentle correction to the thread above, I don't believe Tut was on "Will The Circle Be Unbroken"--Norman Blake and Pete "Oswald" Kirby were. Tut's own website discography doesn't list "Circle." Groundbreaking albums Tut was on include John Hartford's "Aereo-Plain" and "The Great Dobro Sessions.")
