I have a Chandler lap steel I purchased brand new with a case over 12 years ago, with serial number 6610 (or 0199). I'm trying to describe it and price it for sale, but I'm not sure how. I would appreciate any pointers.
It is similar to later RH-2 models, but I don't think it was called that at the time. It differs from later RH-2 models by the fretboard, which has a clear overlay. It has metal tuners and came with a solid case. I basically never played it and then moved to Singapore, where I've lived for the last ten years. It's at my mother in law's now, in absolute mint condition. I'm interested in selling it, but unsure of an appropriate price.
Here are some photos. Sorry for the quality, she took them with her iPad.

Could that be a studio 6? Have you tried writing to Chandler? They're still in business. They're just not making lap steels anymore. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |

Yeah, that rings a bell! I did write them, but they never replied. Their web domain is now for sale; I assumed they had gone of of business.
So if it's a Studio 6, I wonder what I should ask, and how I should try to sell it. |

Go to ebay.com and search 'chandler lap steel guitar' under Musical Instruments & Gear. On the left side of the page choose Show Only sold listings. In short, worth $250-350. Got mine for $250. _________________ ...but you are the music / while the music lasts (TS Eliot) |
