I have a 2 year old Williams D-10 which I like a lot except for the fretboards with the chrome fretlines. In some lighting situations the frets dissappear because of he light reflections. So, I need new fretboards with white frets. Any suggestions? EMCI, Sho-Bud are available , are they the same scale length as the Williams ?
Thanks!

You can try sending a mail to Bill Rudolph.
Maybe he has or can make a differnt style fretboard for you.

I maybe shouldn't be telling you this, but if I go ahead and have Bill make me a new guitar, I am going to try and put Fessenden fretboeards on it. I really like those Texas longhorn fret markers. I think the Williams fretboards look "too busy" for my conservative tastes. Both guitars use a 24 1/4" scale.

I'll say one thing, I ALWAYS know at what fret I'm at with the Williams fretboard.
It's like Map Quest for me! |

Olii, If you practice in the dark you won't even need a fret board.

I've heard Olli play, and it sounds like he's already practiced a lot |

You can get white pin-stripe tape at any auto supply store, and apply it over the reflective frets. I think it would look sort of cool. I might try it myself when I get my new Williams.
