Does anyone know what are the 3 or more note intervals on the pedal steel that are used?

Two note as well are nice but I wanted to know if there where any fuller sounds. Any ideas of the intervals to give a pedal sound?

If you want to play E9 pedal licks, 2 of the most important intervals are the 5th to 6th and 2nd to 3rd. You can emulate it with a good left hand or bending behind the bar. For chords, in E9 they don't play very special voicing you cant get in C6 except for more modern player but I think that with a tuning like C13 you can get or fake most voicing.

hey stef. one thing you can work on is to utilize open strings. you hit the open string and you move the bar under it for other pitch movement ala pedal movement. most steel players are not very attentive to using open strings. thats why i use a shubb bar with the hook on the end. you can tilt that easily...point it at single strings while open strings are ringing.

also work on some behind the bar pulls. that will get you the pedal sound. the sustain of the guitar is also essential to getting the pedal thing. a vol pedal will help you with that as you can hit a note and then slowly bring the pedal up to keep the note sounding. i dont use the vol pedal, but its used by most players.

you have the "way to survive" mp3 i posted. here is another one that has some pedal sounds.
