FYI ...

Mike Auldridge classic LP's "Dobro" and "Blues and Bluegrass", originally released on Takoma Records on vinyl in the early 1970's, are now available together on one CD at Mike's site: http://www.mikeauldridge.com/#Section3

I first heard "Dobro" back in 1973 and it left an indelible mark on my musical pysche. I still think it's the best bluegrass resophonic record ever made even though Mike's style is very different today. "Blues & Bluegrass" is a bit more hit & miss but does contain such classics as Mike's version of "Killing Me Softly" & "Walk Don't Run" - very innovative stuff for the time.

I just discovered the Luthiers Mercantile Catalog available as a free .PDF (about 100 pages) download from: www.lmii.com
I've been reading about guitarmaking for 25 years but I learned a lot of new info about tonewoods and much more from this very informative catalog. If I didn't have two left thumbs I'd almost want to build an instrument!
