Good to see Barry's not forgotten! I used to see and hear him decades ago, in Baltimore, with a group called "Cowboy Jazz". Alien

Barry lives around here, but flies low in the local radar, mainly because he works with top acts. He's a great player. Here's one of my favorite clips. His solo is @3:10, but I like the whole song arrangement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYHPT87RF74

Barry's playing is good, the song is decent, the singer's are fine; but all that compression is ridiculous. Rolling Eyes

I liked that moonalice cut. Yes compressed, but the steel playing is great, and you can hear it perfectly in the mix everywhere. Bach would be proud...

Donny, I used to go see Cowboy Jazz often. Had a crush on Denise, I did.
Hellova player. I still have the Cowboy Jazz LP. Played it just the other day. Played an SD-11 Bud, IIRC.
Tom played a show with them last summer, playing with some Grateful Dead tribute Jesse McReynolds was fronting (Jesse, a deadhead???!!?!!?! Wow).

Donny probably remembers that I've got a musician dad.
Here he is on a J. J. Cale song, the one on the bass

Thanks Glenn, cool tunes! I watched them do all this stuff at the old Emerson Ballroom in downtown Balto.. Sure doesn't seem like it was over 30 years ago. Sad
