Changing formica

I was just wondering: would it be relatively easy to have a steel repair shop remove my old formica and install new, different colored formica finish? I have a carter d10 which is navy blue and I am considering having a black cherry finish put on it.

Or would it just not be worth the trouble for what it is worth?
