Recently got hired to play steel for a commercial. It just went live! They did a pretty good job, though the audio doesn't always match the video. Probably the only ones who will notice are on the forum anyway |

Having the same last name just does not make me sound that good Charlie, HA-HA. Good job, nice tone. Sounds like a Fender tube amp and JBL's?? Proud for you, J.R. Rose _________________ NOTHING..Sold it all. J.R. Rose |

That was excellent. Best truck commercial ever...and I see they have one featuring the banjo as well, though there is a lot of dobro in it. _________________ Mark |

Congratulations Charlie - hope that commercial gets national airtime.
Sure helps us all to have some positive exposure of the instrument we all so dearly love.
(Hope they gave you a new truck !!) |

Charlie,
What an honor being chosen to be the ambassador to introduce steel guitar to the mass public. If this commercial gets national airplay, it may be the only chance some people have to ever see or know anything about a steel guitar. We all get asked too often "what is that thing?" Your playing was excellent and I think you represent our community well.

It must take advertising to put the steel guitar out there. |

Thanks! It is an original '68 Twin Reverb in a head cabinet through 2 Eminence 15's in Tommy Huff cabs. one is a Delta lite 15 and the other is a EPS 15C. I usually use just the EPS with this head, but it was a good excuse to use both! |

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Didn't get a truck out of the deal but supposedly will get a cut of residuals so share it with your friends, if it goes viral I'll make a big donation to the forum

I'll sure do it, Charlie.
That's a great ad, a public service announcement about pedal steel--
factual about the guitar, authentic in every way, and the perfect presenter.
And some people will think that guy's actually playing that thing. |

Very Nice! Is 4000 the magic number on YouTube that triggers royalty payments?
If so I smell a rat. I watched it 5 times and the views counter seems stuck on 3999 views!
Yeah, nice tone and nice playing Charlie. Proud to be part of this forum. _________________ Shobud Pro1,BMI U12, Santa Cruz F, PRS Standard, Fender Twin Reverb, ‘53 000-28 |
