Topic: Broke a return spring on a Push-Pull |

At the start of last night's gig the return spring on the fifth string of the C6th neck broke on my push-pull Emmons. It broken at the point that the hook goes into the changer finger. I hardly ever even play that neck. I had just tuned the neck and was starting to check the tuning by playing a few chords when it broke. Anyone every have that happen before?
I've fixed the guitar enough to play this weekend's gig by stealing the spring off the first string, which I neither raise or lower, but can anyone suggest a source for such a spring, other than calling the Emmons factory? Maybe I should get a few extras just in case.

Paul,
I have plenty of new ones in stock. Send me an email if you'd like a few and I'll reply with the details.
In the meantime (if you haven't done so already) you could tighten the drop tuning screw for the first string against the finger, so it contacts the cabinet ledge. Just don't over-tighten it.

| My fourth string spring on the E9 neck broke one night. I bought a couple from Jerry Roller so I'd have a spare, just in case. |

| Using needle nose pliars, bend another hook on the spring. I've done it several times. Be careful to bend the hook to match the original. Worked great, Eventually replaced with new springs for appearance sake. |
