Just got a new to me Carter S-10. I have a couple of questions. Is there anybody that makes a height extension kit for them? I'm 6'4" and it's a little too short for me. I can make it work but would like to get it a little higher off the ground. Also, how had is it to find undercarriage parts? I would like to make the knee levers the same as my other guitar. I would need one more pull rod, nylon tuning nut and whatever else it takes to connect the pull rod to the bell crank and changer mechanism. Finally are there any wear parts or things I need to watch out for or keep an eye on? Thanks in advance!! _________________ Where do you want it?

Jerry Roller has pedal rod extensions and Al Brisco has the old stock of Carter Parts. |

Hi, Joe, they're great guitars, huh? PM me with the length of the rod you need, I might just have it. For that and most Carter parts the guy is Al Brisco in Canada, although he has a minimum order. Sounds like you just need the rod, a nylon tuner and the brass barrel gizmo that hooks in the bell crank. And those appear to be the one thing to keep an eye on, depending on how long your guitar's actually been played, and how you hold your mouth, they sometimes wear through from the friction of the pull rod, necessitating replacement. You should be able to fairly easily see if any of yours are much worn. Best wishes with it! _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

Thanks, I will try and figure that out. It is for the LKL. The guitar was set up it the E raise on the RKL and the LKL only lowers sting 2. Along with the rod and other small parts, I would need a bell crank or whatever it is called that mounts to the cross shaft. I want to keep two pulls on the RKL. To make it like my other guitar. Any suggestions on how to measure the pull rod? Or should I take the pull rod off the LKL and measure it since I am going to be moving it anyway? Oh yeah, they are great guitars! I almost bought one 20 years ago when I bought the guitar a currently play. I really liked them back then and still do!. _________________ Where do you want it?

Definitely give Al a call. He even has a toll-free number. I just ordered a few extra parts for my new-to-me Carter and he was a pleasure to deal with. _________________ Some gear. |
