Dean, On the dates between March 20 and the 26, I'll be doing only two dates in Spokane.
Wednesday March 25, 7pm to 10pm, at the Spokane Valley Eagles. This particular date is unique in that its just a three piece, drums, bass, and steel. Yes lead steel from beginning to end.
The other gig in Spokane is the next night, Thursday March 26, 8pm-11pm at the Buckhorn Inn at Airway Heights just west of Spokane on Hiway two. This is with a different band then the Wednesday three piece. The Buckhorn band is four piece-old country-traditional country and classic rock. Once again steel is featured instrument.
For that Friday and Saturday the 20 and 21, I'm out of town, dont know of any other steelers in the area playing-I'm the only one. There's a couple other guys, steeler Jamie Frost, comes to mind, who is really good, and plays in a retro hillbilly band, but they only play casuals. I dont know his schedule. I dont think the other steel player plays out much, cant remember his name.
Its pretty bad in Spokane for traditional country music. The people love it and are going crazy for it, but the clubs and bar owners keep booking the new country crap. The traditional bands that I play in keep getting the country dancers out to our gigs, cause they cant stand or dance to the new country-least that's what the dancers keep telling us.
