Just want to say that I've never had a better transaction from afar...
Rick is a gentleman and straight up honest.
First: The guitar was exactly in the condition he said it was. Honest representations. Ive heard Excellent before....but this one truly is..
Second: He packed it well..and on the inside of the case particularly.. no one could have done a better job... partition support blocks cut perfectly to size and everything padded with bubble wrap and foam. The guitar would have had slop in the case...Instead...it was held firmly but with some give around it to relieve any knocking around. If he hadnt have put foam on the outside and the inside and support blocks... based on a mid level shipping bruise there may have been problems with the guitar busting out the partition.
BTW...we shipped USPS... the guitar travelled probably 500 miles in van and 1100 miles by air. 7 transfer points. Kudos to USPS and Canada Post for doing a great job too... 7.5 days for an international transaction which includes customs. Although USPS only insures to 675 US...would you pay for full insurance for a shipper that breaks half of everything they touch and that you have to have a lawyer get involved to collect? ...or under-insure with a shipper that generally does a good job..? Tough call, really... trust in good service won the day though...
Overall, its clear to me that the better part of a good transaction is being straightforward and getting the details right on packing. |

Thanks for the kind words Tom. Feelings are mutual. You were great to work with and so helpful with the shipping and packing. Every transaction should go so smooth.
Thanks to the forum for a place to meet so many great folks and fellow steel enthusiasts. Donation on it's way Monday.

I have to agree as I've had similar experiences with Rick. He communicates well, his prices are fair and the packing he's done for me has been bullet-proof. Thanks Rick |

Saw Rick's name, and had to chime in.
He's worked on my U12, I had a great 2 hr. lesson with him, and he came through when a student of mine needed a pedal steel.

About four years ago, (as a newbie) , I bought my ShoBud from Rick Troyer at his store in Sugar Creek, Ohio. He changed the copedent for me, sold me the guitar, case, seat, peterson strobe, etc.
He has a great store with all your needs at fair prices, he is a fine gentleman, a great steel guitarist and I highly recommend Rick to anyone pro or amateur.
Anytime I need something for the steel, I take the hour drive to his store! |
