The Winnie Winston book was the FIRST book I Got right along with my first pedal steel. 35 years ago. Before the Internet, any teachers in the area, or anything. It was basically just you learning on your own. Luckily, it was the best book available and, in my mind, still pretty much is, along with Jeff Newman's stuff and a few others. I learned so much from it.
