Hey guys, I was curious if any of you play a George Boards 8 String Lap Steel tuned to C6, and what you think about them.

I'm thinking about getting into 8 string Lap. Cool, thanks!

Hi, Troy....

I've got a George Boards Koa top 8 string, and it looks and sounds great. I've also got some of your lessons, thank you!

Nice!!! Thanks Mike. Yeah, they look amazing. I love the way the Koa ones look. I've done minimal research on these, but it seems that the price they are asking right now seems really good.

I'm a big fan of Georgeboards console steels. I have two (different scale lengths. I prefer the 24.5" scale but that's just me. They sound amazing to me. I have an Alumitone pickup in this one, which I built from one of his kits.

I've only played one GB in person and it was a very fine instrument.
George is a long-time member here. His guitars are very high quality instruments, tastefully appointed, and built by a person committed to offering quality instruments. As an excellent steel guitarist, he's familiar with player's needs.

I have not looked at the Lap Steel models but I have a GeorgeBoards Console, 24.5", 8 string tuned to A6th that I've owned for over 2 years and play weekly (Midnite-Blue-Islander). It's a head turner even when silent. I can't see any way that anyone would regret purchasing a GB if my own experience is anything to go by.

Definitely recommended.

George P has a great sense of aesthetic I think with the radiused end and keyhead. They're also bit more three dimensional than your average board with strings. I appreciate the total wooden approach too. Kudos.

I am the happy owner of this one:

It sounds and looks astonishing if you like big Hawaiian swells (I do).

I'm another fan of Georgeboards. I doubt that you will find a detractor. The instruments look and sound Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr8!
