I bought this little treasure from Bobbe Seymour about 17 years ago. Just had it cleaned up, buffed, re-polished, tweaked and the pickup rewound by Truetone. Now she looks & plays like brand new. I never thought it would be such a pleasure to sit down to again after all these years of playing Emmons guitars.

Come on Nick. Quit teasing me. Great looking Bud you got there. By the way, how do you stand it being in front of the drummer (or are my eyes playing tricks on me).

Everytime I do an outdoor gig, I take along some ear plugs. Once I forgot and had to use toilet paper from the Port-a-john.

Nice axe Nicky!

Maybe the drummers sticks were replaced with brushes.

Real drummers don't use brushes!

Mr. Crawford,
Since you've stated your blunt opinion, I hope you don't mind if I state mine.
Any person calling himself a drummer that doesn't have a good command of the subtleties of his instrument, up to and including the use of brushes is a tin-eared moron.
I thankfully submit that I have not had the regrettable occasion of working with any "real drummers" lately.

That picture was shot at a outside patio JAM SESSION Mr Sinkler. Space was very limited because there were about 6 musicians playing on the bandstand. I was actually about 5 feet out in front of the drummer.

Mr. Steele,
You interprited a simple one-liner meant only to poke some fun as a blunt opinion. It was a tongue in cheek statement, as I started my musical career as a drummer. In fact, Jeff Newman requested that I back him up at the Saluda, SC show back in February. That will be one of the most cherished memories I'll have of our long friendship. Jeff actuall requested that I use brushes on a couple of his songs. Guess what...I had them in my stick bag and used them much to Jeff's delight. There ARE musical drummers, also the ones that play too much and too loud. I've always considered myself as a musical drummer, and I have a world of respect for other drummers who know what, when and how to play in order to compliment the singer and lead instruments. Yes, it was just a one liner to poke some fun. I must not be a real drummer by my own statement...I use brushes!

Mr. Crawford,
I apologize for my churlish remarks in misinterpreting your joke.
Despite receiving an e-mail from a close friend advising me that my comments betrayed my kind-and-gentle, Gandhi-like personality I'll let my comments stand for the hundreds of people I've met who would not only take your joking remark at face value, but also agree with it.
So, having cleared that up... onward and upward...back to the topic at hand.
Hey Nick, good to see you playing a real guitar for a change!

The following is a reply to a personnal e-mail from John before I saw his last post. I hope he doesn't mind me sharing it with you.

Hello John,
let's get away from the "Mr." portion of our greetings. That sounds too impersonal to us good ole boys down south! Not to imply that there is no respect intended, just that I would like for us to communicate as friends.
As far as the apology, please know that not only do I appreciate and accept it, I also appreciate the fact that you will take a stand for the trade that got me into the music scene. Drummers have been the brunt of every joke imaginable, and it is a pleasant surprise to have someone come to their aid. I appear guilty now of slamming the very roots of my musical training, and for that, I apologize to you and anyone else who may have taken my comment to heart.
John, I hope we can continue to share a good relationship in the future. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. And if you are ever in the sunny south, please look me up!
Best Regards,
Roger

John...you're OK in my book.

Jeff...thanks for getting us pointed in the right direction!

Nick...sorry to have turned your post away from it's intended purpose. Look me up at the sound table in Chattanooga and I'll buy you a soft drink!

Let's go pick somewhere!
Roger

Hey Nick, I've played this Sho-Bud on gigs for 28 years. It's a super guitar but seems to get heavier every year. Leon

I have a Pro I like Nick's (same color) with straight knee's & narrow pedals that came as a 3X2 but I have had the other two knees to add but haven't gotten it done yet. It is a GREAT guitar.
Leon, I also have a Pro III I bought new in 1977 like yours only in the bluish/green color, more green than blue. Yes, it does seem to be getting heavier for some reason.
