It is David Keli'i.
Three of the tracks: Pidgin English Hula, When Hilo Hattie does the Hilo Hop and Manuela Boy are on the Cumquat CD CQCD-2760, Twilight in Hawaii by Al Kealoha Perry's Singing Surfriders.
Let's hope these CDs will indeed be available again before long. |

Without doubt my favourite Hilo Hattie number is Hula Town. Some years ago Derek Mau posted it. Also the biography by Milly Singletary is a must for Hawaiian Musicologists. _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |

Hilo Hattie was in several Hollywood movies. She started her performing career rather late in life, but she was at her best in Song of the Islands with Betty Grable and Victor Mature. Its a fun movie with lots of good music. Its out there is video land. _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |
