I just completed another fry pan guitar (or boat paddle  guitar. ) It is six strings, uses a Lace Alumitone Deathbucker DB7 pickup. Stacked tone/volume pot, toggle switch to split the pickup. All aluminum, including the back plate and fret board. Heavy as I did not route out the neck, the musician buying this want me to. Here are a few pics:

The polish is grease based, gets all over me, will not wash off with water. I get black from head to toe. And, yeah, lot's of work, noisy, smelly. I made myself a hazmat helmet for the cause. However, to me it's very rewarding to see the polished finish. And I still prefer it over finishing wood: sand, (stain), sealer, sand, clear, sand, clear, sand, clear, polish polish polish.

Here's what the musician who purchased this guitar has to say about it:
"Hi Wayne,
I just wanted to tell you how much I love this guitar you built for me. I can not get over the tone. I can not get over how good the sustain is. The tone is so fat and warm but super clear and bright as well. Its truly amazing. I'm going to be selling a couple of steels now as I will never play anything else...really. Just keeping me bakelite ricks as they are collectables and also sound great too. But your guitar sounds the best!
In about 5 mins, I'm going to use your guitar to for a solo on Rosie's forthcoming album. I will be using it with overdrive as the song calls for it but I may put some clean licks on another song as I really need to have this beautiful tone featured in my new release.
