Would it be ok to just use one side of a stereo power amp with one speaker output and one input.
Thanks Jimmy. |

Sometimes you can bridge the two channels. |

I think if you don't give the unladen channel an input, it won't mind seeing an open. If it has a volume knob, turn it all the way down. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I have used one side of a SS stereo power amp to run a monitor, with no problems. Like Lane said, turn off the unused channel. |

Thanks guys I tried and it works fine like that , and to ask another question if i use both stereo multi effects outputs into both inputs of the power amp and use the mono input on the effects will that give me the full power of the amp using one speaker?
Thanks Jimmy. |

Not using one speaker... you have to have something connected to the output. Find the manual for your amp and see if it can be 'bridged'... basically you have a switch that lets you bridge the amp... this puts one channel out of phase with the other... then you connect your one speaker across both channel's red (hot) connection. The amp has to be designed for this capability!
Typically when you use a stereo effect's 'left or mono' output, you'll get the same effect as when you run both outputs into a mono amp. A bridged amp is a mono amp... you can't have stereo with one speaker. And when you flip the 'bridge' switch it turns off one input anyway. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |
