| Been thinking. I've got a Fender amp that sounds pretty doggone good. It came with an Eminence speaker in it, and I'm thinking about trying a JBL D-120. Just curious as to whether the cone is still OK, or if it's gotten stiff an brittle after all these years. Thoughts?? |

| I have 40+ year old D120's I was using in my Yamaha G100-112 amps and they were fine. But they've spent most of their lives in L.A.'s climate, if that is a factor. |

| All D-120s have dried-out brittle and non-functioning cones. If you have one, please send it to me, as it is worthless... |

| I agree with Dave. A speaker you can't use (or are afraid to use) is pretty useless...in my book. |

| the jbl cones are thicker than many other speakers back in that day. make sure the rubber damping around the edge is still flexible. jbl does not like an open back cab so much, so be careful really smacking it with hard hits at loud volumes. |
