Bill, Y'all did a killer job on that! I don't know if I ever told you that the archived performances you post on your youtube channel is absolutely important to digitally preserving the past in our instrument's history. There are people, especially that are young, that surprisingly are unaware of the contributions of giants like Jimmie Crawford, Stu Basore, and sometimes even Jimmy Day or Buddy. Then on the other half of the spectrum there are long time steel guitar fans that need to hear great players that are more recent or new that are contributing to the music industry but often aren't recognized because they're usually busy making records or touring with major artists. Your Youtube page gives people instant access to great musical moments from the steel guitar that otherwise would be lost to time in the eyes of the general public. Keep posting! |

Bill, thanks for your visual history of the steel guitar. I've always loved the sound of this instrument but life & other interests got in the way of getting a guitar until I was retired. It is a blessing to view your videos for me since I missed out on the whole scene for most of my life. The talent seen over the years is awesome. _________________ Dennis

Bill,
Thanks so much for posting this. It was such great playing from both of you guys. I'm hoping you or someone else will post more of Eddie because it was Eddie's playing with Jamey Johnson that got me started on pedal steel a little more than a year ago. I was going to drive to the show from here in Virginia just to see him play, but unfortunately I could not make it. It's really great that the pro's are still willing to support the instrument and attend show's. Thanks Again..

Now THAT, was a huge treat for a novice player like me. Loved it. Thank you so much for posting this - if only, some day, I, too, could have such a wonderful opportunity to play alongside the calibre of you two fine steelers. _________________ 1976 ShoBud LDG, Peavey Nashville 112, 1994 Fender Custom Shop Jerry Donahue Telecaster |

Great job on the video!
Justin I can relate to your post. My young son started listening to Lonesome song with me when he was 8 and it was due to Cowboys playing that he wanted me to get him a pedal steel. Last June I bought him one for his 11th birthday and he loves it. Cowboy is a great player.
Thanks for the video Bill! You guys really did a great job! |

I've been a Cowboy Eddie Long fan for a very very long time....from way back when our band opened concert for Hank Jr & Bama Band shortly after the Rowdy Friends tune went wild.
Cowboy is a congenial guy, a Master of his instrumnet, and plays with everything from his soul to wild abandon.
Should you ever get opportunity to catch Cowboy Eddie in a steel-centered setting, you owe it to youself to check him out.
You will not be disappointed. |

Bill ,this is really great to see you two pickin' together. Great job! I finally got to meet Cowboy when he was down here visiting with his ole pickin' buddy "Animal" Wayne Turner. You should have heard them two picking together bringing back memories of some of the tunes they did with Hank. It was a treat! Thanks so much for posting this. _________________ Emmons LeGrande II SD-10 4x6
