I just completed an 8 string palm lever guitar, which I call "LaPedal-8"

The body is African Mahogany. I made the humbucker pickup, measures about 10K (wired in series). The tuning is C13 (Bb C E G A C E G A)Lever one raises A to B, leve 2 raises C's to D, lever 3 raises E's to F. See my Innovative Guitars facebook page for more images. When I have time I'll be making a slide show with these pictures, and play something with this guitar as the background music.

so cool!! i don't wanna be too demanding but make a youtube video if you can?

how do you tune it? what do the levers do??

i've fantasized about having something like this for 8-string C6 (ACEGACEG).

Here are 2 links, the first one I'm just plinkin' a few chords and notes and operating levers. The second one is slide show of my imaginary trip to Hawaii I took last night, and I played a song I like. Smile

In the YouTube video, I only used the pedals at the very end of the song.

See the above post with links.

The LaPedal-8 has stops for each finger. You can set the lower stop and this will control the height of the lever. The raise stop is on the lever itself, and you can set how much to raise the note. There are cross overs from two of the bars, so 2 notes can be raise at a time. This can all be configured however desired, raise whatever notes desired. It is clunky and the mechanism is in the way, but, it is manageable, and you can make some sounds not possible on a normal non-pedal lap steel. This is set to C13, you can add the 9th or 11th or M7 by pressing the palm levers. You can get true pedal steel sounds without having to lug around a big Pedal Steel, and no settup time except tuning up.
