I have read most of the patents for pedal steel mechanical devices and am fairly sure what I have cannot be patented. It is a version of the Franklin compensators which Paul Sr. has patented.

It is however not a copy of the Franklin.

It is a practical cross brace that does not contact either apron but is mounted approx center line between the lower and raise fingers, relative to the cabinet floor. It can be placed anywhere there is room.

It is combined with a bracket that serves two fold purpose. 1) The bracket is installed center of the cabinet. like the bracket for most RKR knee levers so serves to hold a reversing block and lever. 2) The mounting method is kind of like a sound post.

The cross brace is 2024 aluminum. It takes 6 wood screws into the cabinet floor. and as stated can be installed with or without a reversing knee lever.

The prototype is installed on my D10 EMCI and proved to me that it works, but I need to build rev. 2.

I will provide drawings, details further, pictures of the prototype.

What it does..

1) It provides a solid anchor point for dedicated half stops.
2) It provides a solid anchor point for stationary pull rods to compensate for tone and / hysteresis
3) It provides an additional knee lever option.
4) It does not alter your guitar - but can significantly increase tone and sustain.
5) It can be used as a pedal or knee lever stop rail.

I need field testers. The risk is minimal. Again, it takes 6 screws. So, if it is installed, and you do not believe it helps or decide you do not want it, it leaves 6 screw holes in the cabinet floor.

My plan is to have the prototype installed on a couple of guitars sitting next to two identical guitars at one of the shows. I was hoping to be ready for Dallas, but do not think I can make it to the Dallas show.

FOr comments and questions, please email or PM through the forum please.

Field testers - no cost to you - it will be free for doing the testing.

Let me know if you are interested.

Please close. Due to lack of practical testing, I have decided not to attempt to manufacture and sell this product. I will provide details to anyone interested in trying it out on your own.

Thanks to all for your interest.
