I've been playing E9 for about 7 years and want to start learning C6.

Need a teacher that is good at guiding a beginner through the basics and early steps. Plan on focusing on western swing repertoire (obviously).

Who do you recommend? Not just a good player, mind you, but a good teacher that you have worked with and can recommend.

Go to Pearl's in the stockyard on Wednesday and watch & listen to Gary Carpenter. He might even consider giving you lessons. If he does you will be one lucky dude. Gary is one of the best.

I second Gary Carpenter. Not sure if he is teaching right now, but you would be in a really good place if you can get a few lessons with him. He is also, of course, an excellent mechanic(he builds rains) if you need any work on your guitar.
