Cool! It looks like it's a challenge to use to get it smooth sounding but he sure does make it look easy. |

I don't know a lot about non-pedal steels, but I would think this gadget
would be greatly accepted. The guy demonstrating it did a heck of a job
and it certainly bridges the gap between pedal and non pedal guitars.
What I want is to hear Jerry Douglas use this baby. _________________ Jb in Ohio

I figure just about anything that keeps Slidin' popular is a good thing,
and this gadget seems to actually add options to playing and style. _________________ Jb in Ohio

Tim Wallis is a monster guitar player using B&G benders and a drop D tuner. Check out some of his videos. He thinks like a steeler. |

LOL... Larry! Yea, in my head & heart I've always been a Steeler but I could never get a handle on playing one with our without pedals, so instead I have to invent devices to "try" and sound like a Steeler.
I've never figured out how y'all can play all those strings, run a volume pedal, knee levers and pedals etc. .... and they call me crazy?????? _________________ Live to Bend! |

Since he posted it himself, i don't guess Mr. Hatcher would mind me reposting this:
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/bbusiak3s7f7oua/Chaconne+Bach+14string+lap+steel.mp3
Joe Bach's tune, thet thar "Chaconne" in D minor. Mr. Hatcher's playing it on a 14-string non-pedal, with a thimble sort of thing on his left thumb tip. I think anyone can see the utility of this for bass lines. Right? Right! |
