Hi Folks
Can anyone advise me if I can use any type of steel guitar strings for a pedal steel? I am converting to E-9 Alkire on my steel and am going to try some variations using the pedals.

Sure would appreciate some feedback- Keith Canuck

Keith,
You can use any type of strings for your project. They should be nickel wound though. The magnetic pickups don't work as well with bronze wound strings. Bronze or brass wound strings work better on acoustic instruments.
I have been using GHS boomers on my Steels for years and have had good results.
