I'm brand new and won't get my steel for several days yet. But, I'm collecting gear to be ready for the day it arrives.
Wondering what everyone's preferences are for tuners? Until I get an ear for what's expected, I'd like to buy the right chromatic tuner. Not sure if my 6 string tuner for guitar will be helpful.
Thanks!

I am new at this too. I am using a Boss TU12H Automatic Chromatic High Range Tuner.

I just bought a Korg GT12, it has a real needle and is back lite. $70 at Guitar Center.

Seiko 747 @ about $35, compact and works pretty good. Korg is real good, one on buy and sell, if it's not gone already.

Hey guys, thanks! Now to go hit Musician's Friend or eBay and snatch one of these up.
One more piece to the collection of gear, already piled around.
Thanks again!

Daryl,
You might want to take a look at the Seiko ST767 Cromatic Tuner. I have used most of the tuners on the market and for the money I really like the ST767. Not only do they have an LCD needle, they also have a digital read out in cents. Not a bad tuner and the last time I checked Musicians Friend they could be purchased for $19.95. I have a more expensive tuner and bought the ST767 as a back up, but now I am using it for my main tuner.
