I don't know if anyone has posted this link before, but I ran across this on youtube, a bunch of Buck Owens TV shows from the mid 60's, with some great guitar & steel, courtesy of Don Rich & I assume Tom Brumley, some great picking & singing, that's for sure.

Well, we've had almost 55 years to do country music better than this, and we haven't done it yet. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

Check out Tom playing C6 on the Tommy Collins song in that clip. First time I've noticed him doing that! |

Hey Jim, in November of '98 my old bud Kenny Dail and I went to the Atlanta area to the Steel Guitar convention that was put on by Carl Dixon who used to post on here a lot.... Anyway, Tom did some C6th playing on a Rickenbacker frypan which was pretty dang impressive for sure...JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |
