Does anyone know anything about the Bediaz lap steels. They are made in Germany and are being sold on EBAY now. |

The Yellow looking Lap Steel with Bediaz logo is made in Shanghai, The Amboyna and made over there too.
All of those acoustics are made in Shanghai, with the Badiez logos branding. They have developed several models in the last few years.
It looks like they are doing Affiliate sales on the Ashers, and looks like they may have picked up some second (20th) hand used steels and are reselling them over in Europe. |

My first Weissenborn was a Bediaz deep body. It has a solid Spruce top, the rest is laminate. It sounds like a pretty good guitar with a spruce top. Does not really sound like a Weissenborn, but for the slide and a bit more sustain. They are not crap, though definitely made in China. The pick-up is excellent. The Bediaz guys are extremely nice and efficient. I emailed with questions first and they were very honest. Some of the companies out there pretend like they make the guitars themselves. Irritates me.
I hope that helps. |
