I can't wait to see that DVD, Bill! I was just watching some Country's Family stuff I had saved and the producers and Family members seem to appreciate Johnson's work as much as we do. Smooth as glass, and that phrasing...man, I need to go play, steal some of that.

Thanks for all the music Mike!

Back in the late '70's Mike played at one of Bobby Helms fourth of July picnics. He was working with the great Mel Street then and I was with Bobby. When I heard Mikes playing I ran over to see which of the "big guys" was on stage. I was actually upset to see a very young man playing such great music. I see Mike every now and then and he still looks pretty much the same. I knew back then Mike would be one of the "big guys" and he has more than exceeded that long ago. He was a nice kid then and he still is a great guy.

Bill, wow! That was shortly after I moved to Nash. Thx for posting, hope
see you again sometime soon.
I sure miss "Ole Mel". He was so good to me and what a great talent.

Hey Mike. I spoke with you many years ago on the phone as you were staring to work for Jack Green I believe and then with Bill Anderson. I worked for Johnny Lee and Suzanne Marie back in the seventies. It is hard to imagine that Mel would be around 80 years old today! Did he and Jean (I believe was his wife's name- I know Jim Prater's wife's name was Jean) have any children? Any singing from them? Though I no longer work the road, as I now Pastor a church in Middletown, Ohio, I still think about these people from time to time.

For those who haven't seen the show, Mike plays some of the best stuff you've ever heard and Buddy is sitting in the audience, watching and smiling.
