Did Fender ever build a D10 Stringmaster?

Hi Johnny,

I haven't seen a D-10 FENDER STRINGMASTER, but a man in N.Y. had A black T-8 Stringmaster with A damaged 3rd neck.
He made A complete new 10 string 3rd neck for this guitar, including a 10 string FENDER tuning pan. It was a few years ago & he sold the guitar for $900.

As far as I know, Fender only made three steel guitar models with two necks of ten strings each:

* Fender 2000
* Artist Dual 10
* PS-210

All three were pedal steels, not non-pedal steels.

Looks like an orphaned Stringmaster neck with a pedal steel (Fender 800 or 2000) tuner pan fitted.

Carco told me he thought it was a prototype... you can't just put a 10-string pan on an 8-string neck, it won't fit. You should see all the signatures underneath!

Is he a member on here? I'd love to see some more pictures of it.

On a related note, are the bodies and routing on the 6 string "Stringmaster style" guitars the same as on Stringmasters?

I think he's talking about the Deluxe 6 with the two pickups and blend wheel.

Yes, that's what I was talking about.

There was a lot of quite heated discussion on here recently about what they should be called and whether they were actually Stringmasters or not. I couldn't remember what we finally decided on so hoped people would realise what I meant by "6 string Stringmaster style"
