Selling my favorite acoustic guitar to get in the steelin' game. Hard choice, but it was bound to happen. Everything is original, except for the bridge. A few cracks, but nothing that affects playability or goes all the way through the body. I've noticed that the cracks are in the same places in other 1970s SJ deluxes on the internet. They are due to age, not abuse. Has a great sounding (and absolutely hidden) fishman matrix installed.

Price lowered $800 plus shipping

Hi David,

Cool guitar! What can you tell me about the bridge? I'm fairly certain that is not from the factory, certainly never seen a SJ Deluxe with a bridge that shape or with inlays like yours.

All the best,

Julian

Julian, I wish I knew more about it! The bridge appears to be the same age as the guitar, so I believe it could've been custom from the original owner. I am number 3 or 4 to own this guitar. I've had it for about 6 years now.

Gibson did briefly change their bridges in the '70s. Lots of J-200s from that time with similar shaped bridges. This looks right to me.

I checked with Gibson, the bridge is in fact aftermarket! Price lowered to 800. IMO the bridge on this looks better than the original. Not just sayin that because I'm the one selling it! Laughing
