I have the opportunity to be floating around Texas for the first week of August. Is there anything I should be going to?

Thanks in advance.
Tim

Start out in Galveston...I'm not really a fisherman at all. Don't know anything about it.

John there is some great trout fishing in the streams on the eastern slopes in Southern Alberta. Great fly fishing for salmon in Newfoundland - I went out with Chris LeDrew a few years ago. Lots of great salt water fishing off the coast of British Columbia. Those are the examples that I am most familiar with, but generally there is amazing fishing in all parts of Canada. Come on up!

Tim - yes that's me. Are you looking for steel guitar related activities or just general ideas? One of the best things to do in Galveston is get drunk. You should eat as much brisket, Mexican food, kolaches and Vietnamese food as possible. Houston is Calgary's sister city, it'd be worth driving 45 min north and checking out the museums etc. if you come to Houston pm me and I will give you an extensive list of where to eat and guitar stores to visit.

Cool! I have a friend that lives in Houston that I have to visit. Steel stuff would be cool, or some bands with great players that are gigging somewhere. Jams too! We should try to meet. Do you know if you are playing anywhere that week?
