I know this subject was covered some years ago, but I forgot what the fix was ( it's the age thing )
My Dual Pro has a slight buzz in the pickup area, on the inboard neck, and maybe someone here remembers the fix (??)
I rarely play this guitar, but would like it to work right. I had one pickup coil re-wound about a year ago, and had all the bright parts re-chromed, and once it's working right, I plan to sell it. It's too heavy for me to carry anymore also..

Is the buzz on the neck with the original pickup? As I recall, sometimes those old bobbins can collapse a bit and touch the top of the strings. Short of a new bobbin and rewind, some cut a thin spacer to fit between strings 4 and 5 to prop the bobbin back up. _________________ Some misc pics of my hand crafted steels

As it turns out, the pickup coil was not held down tight under the top cap of the pickup. I shimmed it about .030 under the cover, and it clamped it tight.
Now it sounds like a Fender ! ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
