A simple little ditty from 'way back, with the sound that made Pete famous.

Enjoy! Smile

Donny, I'm glad you posted this. I am going to show my ignorance here. But I wish that I could play these licks, style, what ever it would be called, I have listened to Jim Reeves since I was a teenager and I just loved the Pete Drake playing on those recordings. I wish that I could understand how he was doing this. My first dumb question is...Is he using the standard E9 tuning that we use today? If any one could do some tabs of this style I would love to learn his style.

You can do most if not all of the licks in your link on C6 with P6 and P7.

I told a fellow steeler awhile back that Pete made a very good livng with just his C6th neck and 2 pedals. 6&7. I don't think he ever got the credit that he deserved.

Jim Smith, You have cleared this up for me. I only play E9. Now I under stand why I could not figure out how to play his licks. I got to wonder though if his style could be played on E9. Any way , Thanks for your post. Dale
